Rob Schouw
The counselor
Rob Schouw spent more than 25 years of his career in the music business. He began his career as marketing research manager at PolyGram (current Universal) at the end of the eighties and joined the Warner Music Group as marketing manager in the early nineties. He became managing director of the BMG Music Group in 2000 and Sony CEO in 2004 for the Benelux region.
Over the years he has been a driving force behind the breakthrough of many international artists including Alicia Keys, Pink, John Legend, Usher, REM, Tori Amos, Green Day and local artists including Kane, Niels Geusebroek, K3, and Within Temptation.
After leaving Sony Music as CEO he started a full rights artist-management company in 2007. In 2017 he was co-founder of the WideAwake Music Group and KnightVision Records.
For now, Rob is involved as counselor for music Movement Records to develop strategies, goals and guidance.
Ilja Volkers
The counselor
Ilja Volkers is a well-known name in the Dutch music industry. He previously held various marketing and commercial roles at companies such as BMG, Sony Music, Alda Events, and the online marketing agency Timm & Pimm.
More in depth, Ilja Volkers was ultimately responsible for physical and digital sales, identifying new commercial partners, and maximizing the exploitation of the Warner catalog as commercial & catalogue director.
For now Ilja is active as Consultant Business Development at PURE Jingles. PURE Jingles is a leading company specializing in broadcast and brand identity, driven by PURE love for radio and audio.
For now, Ilja is involved as counselor for Music Movement Records to advise on the exploitation side world wide and for the further development of Music Movement Records.
Our Mission
Music Movement Records is an central based music company in the Netherlands which includes recording, production and songwriting facilities including artist development. From the start in 2024 Music Movement Records has a complete focus on the development of young artists and the latest technology for global streaming of electronic 'dance' music. We are the movement.
